1.7.1 Theoretical setting

The first element is the theoretical setting for the research program. It is important to situate a piece of sociocultural research like this within a theoretical framework. Chapter 2 discusses in detail the three frameworks used (Constructuralism, Punctuated Equilibrium and Genre theory) and addresses briefly some other candidate frameworks (see 2: Theoretical Perspectives on page 27).
