Minimal Research Lifecycle

Context

This diagram came out of an investigation into research data lifecycles to inform a conference keynote I was scheduled to give. It turns out there are a lot of different research data lifecycles. So many lifecycles. See this Google search for a selection.

I decided to try and reduce the elements in a possible lifecycle to the bare minimum ("Everything should be made as simple as possible, but no simpler" - Albert Einstein, but in a less simple form) The result of this process of reduction was the following, licensed CC BY NC, and available as a JPG or a PPTX file (containing a build):
